The course emphasizes field methods and mapping using the spectacular geologic settings in Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.  Study localities including the Snake River Plain, Yellowstone, Teton, Wind River, Washakie Mountains, and Sawtooth Range.  The first and last weeks are spent at a variety of locations in the northern Rocky Mountains, with the middle three weeks based out of Timberline Ranch, 15 miles NW of Dubois, WY and 70 miles NEW of Jackson, WY.

Miami University faculty-led study abroad and away workshops have three cost components: tuition/admin fee, program fee and out-of-pocket expenses. The full cost of participation is the total of the costs below.
 
Tuition and Admin fee + Program fee + Out of pocket expenses = Total cost

 

**Workshops are exempt from the Tuition Promise** Amount Due by:
UNDERGRADUATE TUITION WINTER/SUMMER 2018-19     
Ohio Resident per credit hour $549.20 Charged to Bursar bill
Non-Resident per credit hour* $936.30 Charged to Bursar bill
GRADUATE TUITION WINTER/SUMMER 2018-19     
Ohio Resident per credit hour $536.21 Charged to Bursar bill
Non-Resident per credit hour* $898.48 Charged to Bursar bill

* This rate reflects a discounted tuition rate approved for non-Ohio residents participating in this study abroad/away program. This discount is considered a waiver.  Per University policy, only one tuition waiver can be applied to an individual student per term, but the highest waiver rate will be automatically applied.

Summer Term Tuition Refund Policy
You must officially withdraw from a credit workshop registration by  4:30 p.m. on the business day before the start of the workshop to receive a tuition refund. Workshop administrative fees and program fees are non-refundable unless the workshop is cancelled by Miami University. Failure to attend, non-payment, or contacting the workshop director is insufficient notice. To officially withdraw from a workshop, you must contact Global Initiatives, 214 MacMillan Hall, global@MiamiOH.edu, (513)529-8600.

ADMINISTRATIVE FEE $175.00 Charged to Bursar bill
Administrative Fee Refund Policy
The $175 administrative fee is charged upon course registration and is non-refundable.
 
2019 PROGRAM FEE $2000  
DEPOSIT $250 due upon acceptance and no later than 03/01/2019
BALANCE $1750 due no later than 04/01/2019
Program fee includes housing, some meals and ground transportation.

Program Fee Refund Policy
The program deposit and the refund policy is set by the director. The full fee is non-refundable.

Additional Anticipated Expenses $800 Out-of-pocket
Additional Anticipated Expenses include airfare (optional, ~$600) to Jackson, WY, and additional meals (estimated at ~$200).

All fees are subject to change without notice

All summer session courses and credit workshops are enrollment contingent, and are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment.
