GlobaLinks Learning Abroad
Mahidol University, Thailand

Program Overview

Founded in 1888, Mahidol University is one of the oldest educational institutions in Thailand, and today, includes 16 faculties, 8 institutions, 3 hospitals, and 6 colleges. The university supports a student body of over 19,000 and with over 2,600 faculty; the teacher student ratio is the best of any university in Thailand.

Mahidol University International College (MUIC) was established to deliver English-taught degree programs that embody the finest standards possible to a diverse population of full-time students from Thailand and around the world. Programs in the social sciences, business, and tourism management stand alongside offerings in health and natural sciences. In addition to these, the College offers general foreign language and humanities courses.

The MUIC is located at Mahidol University's Salaya campus on 500 acres of managed land, including parklands and sports facilities. Salaya is a thriving campus town and residential suburb of Bangkok. The center of Bangkok is only 20km from campus.

Although most MUIC students are Thai, there are also students from over 40 different countries attending the College. This mix of students provides an opportunity to make friends and contacts in Asia and throughout the world that will last a lifetime.

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad students attending MUIC will live close to campus in apartment-style accommodations. Most units are shared with limited single rooms available. Meals are not included in the program fees. Housing includes furnished rooms with air conditioning, access to a laundry room, kitchen, and lounge area with TV.

About GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Programs

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs are created with individual student's goals in mind. Our programs are built around a unique Discovery Model which is delivered by our amazing staff, both in the U.S. and overseas. Our Discovery Model provides every student with an individualized experience through discovery in 5 key areas: personal, academic, cultural, social, and professional. Our North American staff counsels each student through the application and enrollment process, and our on-site Resident Coordinators set up a calendar of activities for students related to each area of discovery. These activities are more than just tourist excursions, and include opportunities like networking events, local festivals, gallery openings, and other similar events that you can't find in a travel book.

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs include everything you would expect in a study abroad program: guaranteed housing, 24-hour in-country support, an in-country multi-day orientation program, comprehensive pre-departure services, and discovery activities to make the most out of each student's experience. Students of all majors are welcome to apply, and no prior language skill is required as some or all courses are taught in English at each university. Scholarships are available.
